Information for English Speakers
Greetings from Samsung Gonggam Psychiatry Clinic in Daejeon.
We understand that, as a non-Korean speaker, you may find it challenging to seek professional help.
At our clinic, we strive to provide high-quality care for English speakers in the area.
Our psychiatrists speak English, and our staff members are also capable of providing basic assistance in English.
Please refer to the step-by-step guide below for more information on planning a visit to our clinic.
01
Making a reservation
To ensure sufficient time for each patient, our clinic operates on an appointment-only basis.
New patients are required to make a reservation by calling 042-721-3456.
When you call, one of our staff members will assist you in finding a suitable time for your visit.
Once your reservation is confirmed, we will send you a text message the day before your appointment.
If you feel hesitant about calling due to language barriers, please feel free to email us at ssggdj3456@gmail.com.
02
Preparing for your visit
In accordance with government regulations, patients are required to present an official form of identification upon arrival (e.g., ID card or passport). Photocopies or pictures will not be accepted.
Your visit may take 2–3 hours, including any psychiatric tests that may be conducted. Please keep this in mind when scheduling your appointment.
If the psychiatrist orders a quantitative electroencephalography (qEEG) test, gel will be applied to your hair.
Please bring a cap or a towel to dry your hair afterward.
03
Signing in
for your appointment
Before meeting the psychiatrist, you will be asked to:
- Complete an Initial Visit Form.
- Fill out a series of psychiatric rating scales to provide a clearer understanding of your symptoms.
Both the Initial Visit Form and rating scales are available in English. Our staff members are happy to assist you if needed.
04
Meeting with the
psychiatrist
When it is your turn, you will be invited into the psychiatrist’s office. Please feel free to openly discuss any challenges you have been experiencing. The psychiatrist may recommend additional tests or examinations to better understand your situation.
